Vin Diesel began his acting career as a theater artist as young as seven. The "xXx" star, his brother, and other friends used to play at the Theater for the New City, Manhattan. One day, they broke into the theater and tried to vandalize the property. The theater's artistic director, Crystal Field, caught Vin Diesel and made him act in a stage show called, "Dinosaur Doors," failing which she would call the police. Since then, he had acted in several theater plays until he became old enough to go out searching for work opportunities.

6."Feature Filmmaking At Used Car Prices" Book Changed His Life

In the early 90s, Vin Diesel made several unsuccessful attempts to become an actor. Unfortunately, his theater experience didn't help him much to land big Hollywood roles. After making a couple of uncredited appearances in movies, he moved back to his native town. His mom then gifted him the "Feature Films at Used Car Prices" by Rick Schmidt, which changed his life entirely. With the help of the book, Vin Diesel wrote, directed, and acted in two movies in which one was screened at 1995 Cannes Film Festival.
