The people of this generation never know what it feels like to live in fear of serial killers. Ask your parents about it; they will tell you some grisly serial homicide stories of their generation. Serial murderers scared the life out of people a few decades back. They butchered their unsuspecting victims for fun. BTK a.k.a. Dennis Lynn Rader is one such serial killer who murdered ten people between 1974 and 1991. He had enjoyed 31 years of absolute freedom before the authorities caught him in 2005 for his horrendous crimes. Read the 12 hair-raising facts of BTK Killer that we think you didn't know before.
4.A Closer Look Into The Murder Of Otero Family

After fantasizing about torturing and killing people for years, BTK decided to act out his fantasies. He had stalked many individuals in the neighborhood before choosing members of the Otero family to be his first victims. On January 15, 1974, he broke into their house from the back door. He brought a gun, knife, rope, and few other supplies with him. He first killed Joseph Otero, the head of the family and father of two, by suffocating him to death with a plastic bag. BTK then murdered Julie Otero, wife of Joseph Otero, by strangling her with a rope around her neck. He murdered Joseph Otero, Jr. in the same way as he killed his father. Though the 9-year-old daughter of Joseph and Julie, Josephine, escaped the bloodbath, BTK soon caught her and hanged her to death from a drainage pipe. He reportedly masturbated to the girl's dead body.

5.He Brutally Killed Ten People

In the same year he massacred the Otero family, 1974, BTK killed a 21-year-old girl named Kathryn Bright by stabbing 11 times in her back and torso. In 1977, he murdered 24-year-old Shirley Vian and 25-year-old Nancy Fox by strangling them to death with a rope. In early 1978, he sent another letter to television station KAKE in Wichita, claiming responsibility for the murders of the Oteros, Shirley Vian, Nancy Fox, and Kathryn Bright. Inside the letter, he wrote a poem titled "Oh! Death to Nancy", a botched version of the lyrics to the American folk song "O Death." In 1985, he broke into a house in Park City, Kansas, and smothered 53-year-old occupant, Marine Hedge. A year later, in 1986, he strangled Vicki Wegerle with a nylon stocking and took her life. His last victim was the 63-year-old senior woman from Wichita, Dolores E. Davis. BTK asphyxiated her with a pantyhose in 1991. More interesting than "Oh! Death to Nancy" is the poem that BTK wrote to Anna, an intended victim, who did not come home in time to be murdered by BTK. He waited in her home for her to return, but then became impatient and left. This poem which is printed below commemorates this event.
Oh, Anna Why Didn't You Appear

T' was perfect plan of deviant pleasure so bold on that Spring nite

My inner felling hot with propension of the new awakening season

Warn, wet with inner fear and rapture, my pleasure of entanglement, like new vines at night

Oh, Anna, Why Didn't You Appear

Drop of fear fresh Spring rain would roll down from your nakedness to scent to lofty fever that burns within,

In that small world of longing, fear, rapture, and desparation, the game we play, fall on devil ears

Fantasy spring forth, mounts, to storm fury, then winter clam at the end.

Oh, Anna Why Didn't You Appear

Alone, now in another time span I lay with sweet enrapture garments across most private thought

Bed of Spring moist grass, clean before the sun, enslaved with control, warm wind scenting the air, sun light sparkle tears in eyes so deep and clear.

Alone again I trod in pass memory of mirrors, and ponder why for number eight was not.

Oh, Anna Why Didn't You Appear

BTK, 1979
